Privacy Policy

The short version: KeepBook keeps your data on your device, and — if you turn on iCloud sync — in your own private iCloud. There are no accounts, no servers of ours, no analytics, no ads, and no third-party trackers. We never see your data — we couldn't even if we wanted to.

Who we are

KeepBook is an expense- and budget-tracking app for iPhone, made by Soft Bloom, an independent app studio. In this policy, "we," "us," and "Soft Bloom" mean the studio behind KeepBook.

What we collect

Nothing. Soft Bloom does not collect, receive, store, or have access to any of your information. KeepBook has no user accounts and no Soft Bloom servers, and it makes no network connection to us to collect your data.

What KeepBook stores on your device

Everything you put into KeepBook is kept in the app's private storage on your device:

Transactions you record (amounts, tips, names, categories, dates)
Budgets, recurring rules, custom categories, and warranty dates
Receipt photos you scan, and the text the app reads from them
Your preferences (theme, language, currency symbol, reminder times)

None of this is transmitted to us or to anyone else. It stays on your device except in the one case you choose below.

iCloud sync (optional)

KeepBook offers an optional iCloud sync setting, which is off unless you turn it on. When it is on:

Your KeepBook data is synced through your own private iCloud account, using Apple's CloudKit, so it can appear on your other devices signed in to the same Apple Account.
That data lives in your private iCloud database. Soft Bloom cannot see it, access it, or retrieve it — it never passes through any server of ours.
Apple's handling of iCloud data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
You can turn sync off at any time, and you can remove the synced copy from within the app ("Delete iCloud Data").

The camera and receipt photos

KeepBook asks for camera access only when you tap the receipt-scan button. The text recognition (OCR) and the optional merchant-name suggestion run entirely on your device using Apple's on-device technologies (Vision and, on supported devices, Apple Intelligence) — the image and its text are not uploaded anywhere for processing. Receipt photos you keep are stored on your device, and — if you have iCloud sync on — in your private iCloud, exactly like the rest of your data. They are never sent to Soft Bloom or anyone else.

Notifications

Reminders (daily logging, subscription renewals, warranty expirations) are local notifications scheduled on your device. There is no push server.

What we don't do

No user accounts, sign-ins, or profiles
No analytics or usage tracking of any kind
No advertising and no ad identifiers
No third-party SDKs that collect data
No selling, sharing, or monetizing of data — we don't have it

Sharing and export

If you use the share or CSV-export features, the data goes only where you send it, using the standard iOS share sheet. That action is entirely under your control.

Deleting your data

Edit or delete any entry directly in the app.
Erase everything using the reset options in Settings.
Turn off iCloud sync and delete the iCloud copy from within the app.
Delete the app to remove its on-device data from that device.

Children

KeepBook does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes

If KeepBook's data practices ever change, we will update this page and revise the "Last updated" date above before a version of the app that relies on the change is released.
